Your letters enclosing the 16 & 20th Ultimo, with their enclosures have been duly received — the muster & pay roll contained in the first will be handed to Caleb Swan Pay master General, who has an Office in this place; and whose duty it is in the first instance to examine & liquidate all army accounts; from him the proper amount will be received after such examination; The Secondary Account being connected with other accounts of yours, now in this Office, it will be settled here; but hereafter all similar Accounts must be transmitted in the first instance to Mr Swan — After an examination of the latter account has taken place you will be informed thereof. —
