In your Letter of the 2d Ultimo you say that "Mr Samuel Lewis Senr Clerk in the War Office will transmit you One hundred & Sixty Dollars the Amount due Doctor Hugh Scott, for Medicine" and as that remittance has not yet come to hand I have to request you to inform me whether Mr. Lewis has or has not sent forward that Sum at present I am rather persuaded that that Money has not been sent, and particularly as I Cant recolect any remittances by Post having Miscarried I am &c J. S.
