Sir,
The Secretary of the Treasury informed me, that the vouchers for the Stores received and delivered by James Seagrove, the publics Agent at St Marys in 1794, were sent to your Office, I will thank you to cause them to be delivered to me. I wish also to ascertain the particular Regiments to which the Detachments at the Posts in the enclosed list belongs — without this information I cannot charge the Regiments with the Clothing delivered to their men while thus detached. I presume documents are with you which will readily give the information.

This morning I received your letter of the 19th instant. Before I could attempt an answer, I handed it to the Accountant, who having perused it, returned it and endorsed thus: "Henry Glen Esqr Agent for providing "the means of transportation of Troops &c destined to take "possession of Oswego &c, stands charged on the books of the "Treasury with Balance Doll. 2230.— On the Books of "the Accountant of the War Department, with Doll. 1170.— "for the expenditure thereof no accounts have been rendered" A verbal [strikethrough: mesage] message informed me that before further advances could be made, the vouchers for the above must be submitted to the proper Officers.
