Agreeably to the rules & articles of War I am entitle [strikethrough: from your office] on application to a certified copy of those proceedings from your Office — I request Sir [strikethrough: you will] as soon as may be that you will convenient forward me a Copy — I am Sir your Obed^t Ser Sr^t Sam Osborn James McHenry Esq^r Secretary of War On the 10^th Inst Rec^d a note from Gen^l Hamⁿ containing a part of yours of the 9^th relative to my resignation wherein it is observd only pray & emoluments ceasd on the 9^th is it so Sir or did they cease on the 1^st June — for the I request you to forward what was due me I have not since the 1^st June rec^d a cent from the War Department —
