I have received your letter of the 2d instant covering the Invoice sent you by former Post ↓
I have been told that Mr Saml McClintock of whom you wished to be informed resides in or near Shippensburgh —
I have this day transmitted to the Secretary of War a General return of Stores up to the first of July 99 and which I have requested the Secretary to send to your Office ↗
The fever entirely disappearing in your City gives all its Well-wishers intense pleasures, and what must be the feelings of those who are more intimately concerned —
The Quarter Master General informs me by his letter of the 2d instant, that I can be allowed only one Clerk in the Q M department — in that case I shall be under a necessity of dismissing Mr King I have therefore to beg of you to endeavour
know whether this Measure to be adopted in consequence of orders from the Secretary of War or has originated with the Q. M. G himself —
