I have reiceved your letter here the 1th Inst: enclosing receipt rolls for pay & forage of the troops Stationed at Fort McHenry under your Command for May 1799, the amount thereof founds adopted being Two hundred sixty four Dollars & 9/00 will be placed to the credit of your account on the Books of this Office.
I have also reiceved your Muster & Pay rolls for the month of July 1799 which have been transferred to Coll: Swan's tod pay master Imrents for allowance, & when you will in future accompy your communications relative to the Pay of your Detachments a settlement of the balances remaining in your hands from the Pay of the troops under your Commands for the month of April 1799 being Twenty dollars & 19/00 & that for May 1799 being Ten dollars; making in all thirty dollars & 19/00 has been furnished herewith rolls of proceed: make this nessary deduction from your pay on the July Rolls, to balance that account.
Your freight bill for those you will no doubt forward to this Office for examination & entry, should any balances remain unasplied McSwan will arrest this nessary direction for making this deduction. McSimmons being temporarily about will act for this convey from of my Jisuth [undecipherable]
