I have received your letter of the 2d and you will by this days mail receive from Samuel Shaw & Clarke in the War Office the sum of two thousand Dollars on account of the subsistence of the Officers of the 11 toth Regt Infantry to whom you will please be forwarded your receipt. I have advised the Paymaster General of this remittance & requested him to furnish you with the necessary instructions relative to the disbursement thereof. You will in future correspond with him on the subject of your accounts as they are transferred to him for settlement, agreeably to which I formerly wrote you on this subject.
