Mt. Gen who will find some Person that will except of a small Compensation I am led to this Opinion by having the D. Mt. Gen. say that he Should appoint an Agent in New York — I Expected to have heard from Major Swan. you will please to tell him that Lieut^t. Jⁿ Wilson sailed from Presqueisle last Saturday Morning on Board the Sloop Detroit having Eighteen Boxes of Dollars in his Charge. you will also please to tell him That Lieut Thomp. Continues — He has been once Toped & must shortly undergo a like Operation. A Boat arived here a few days ago from Orleans & A Trading Voyage up the Mississippe it is said her brought here twelve thousand Dollars in Specia.
