I am delighted to find the Crops your way are also abundant. All will be well with our beloved Country infidelity notwithstanding — adieu —
your most obedient Servant,
Samuel Hodgson —
Major Isaac Craig. —
Philadelphia, 2d Aug. 1799.
Sir, I have received your letter of the 26th Ulto. this morning — I believe there is yet one of the notes you mention outstanding, tho' I have heard nothing of it lately. Governor Sugars has obtained leave of absence to visit his eastern friends, and is expected here shortly on his way to Boston, at which time it is certain the business will be attended to. I have heard nothing from him on the subject — I would just hint that no accident to him would affect you in the manner you apprehend. He has a handsome property — a considerable part of which is in my hands — I will remind Col. Williams of the wine, and have it procured and forwarded —
I am, Sir,
your most obedient Servant
Samuel Hodgson —
Capt. Edwd D. Turner.
