You will receive from McLeans bar, the Sum of two hundred fifty six Dollars & 7tm being for pay &forage of the Detachment under your command from 1 April To 30 June 1799 — also a further sum of fifty nine Dollars & 7ny being balance due on settlement, of your Recruiting account including your pay to 30 June 1799 © of ten Sheets herewith for your government.
for which sums you will be pleased to transmit your duplicate receipts bearing yourself accountable for the disposition thereof —
On examining the muster rolls of your Detachment from 1 December 1798 to 31 March 1799, I find that Henry Burrows signs as Recruiter for Dr H. Simmers Corporal Dennis, tho' he has been admitted to your Squad, it is necessary that you forward to this Office the authority on which Burrows recd his pay —
As soon as you have obtained the signatures to the within receipt rolls, it is to be returned to this Office, but refer to exonerate you from the charge —
