Department of War Accountants Office August 2. 1799- Sir I herewith hand you for examination the Accounts of the following Paymasters, together with an Abstract of the [undecipherable] pending to their debit on the books of this Office - Lieut John MacWhorter, paymaster to the 11 Reg^t of Infantry commanded by Lieut. Col. Aaron Ogden, for payments to the said Reg. on account of the pay and forage of the Field & Staff, and the pay of the other Commissioned Officers. Lieut. Truman Morly, paymaster to the 13 Reg of Infantry commanded by Lieut Col. Timothy Taylor, for payments to the said Reg on account of the pay & forage of the Field & Staff, the pay of the Commissioned officers, and for monies advanced on account of the Recruiting Service. Lieut Robert Duncan Jr^r. PayMaster to the 14 Reg^t of Infantry commanded by Lieut. Col. Nathan Rice, for payments made to the said Reg. on account of the pay & forage of the Field & Staff, and the pay of the other Commissioned officers. Lieut Calvin Morgan payMaster to the 7 Reg^t of Infantry commanded by Lieut. Col. William Bentley, for payments to said Reg^t on account of the pay & forage of the Field & Staff, the pay of the other commissioned officers, and for monies advanced on account of the recruiting Service. Lieut. William Swan, paymaster to the 15 Reg^t of Infantry commanded by Lieut Col. [undecipherable], for payments made the said Regiments for the purposes last mentioned. Lieut Ninian Pinckney, paymaster to the 9 Reg^t of Infantry commanded by Lt. Col. Jorias C. Hall, for monies advanced said Regiment on account of the recruiting service. I have furnished in your absence each PayMaster with Instructions relative to the duties they were then called upon to perform, copies of which you may have reference to in this office for your government — I have acknowledged the [undecipherable: probable reading "arrival"] of their accounts, and the paymasters have been informed that you would communicate with them on the subject thereof.
