Enclosed is a letter from [undecipherable] from which it appears that there is a quantity of Provisions deposited at the Fortifications at New York, near the amount of [undecipherable] Contracts for the Year 1798, for which it is probable he has been paid at the Treasury. If you can throw any light upon this subject it [undecipherable] enable us to answer [undecipherable] letter it will be very acceptable: it will also enable us to charge the present [undecipherable] with the amount.
