Lou Brown Esq^r Principal Clerk Comptrollers Office Accountants Office July 27 1799 Sir Enclosed is a letter from Betterlower from which it appears that there is a quantity of Provender deposited at the Fortifications at New York near the boundary of Plymouth Cantonment for the Year 1793, for which it is probable he has been paid at the Treasury. If you can throw any light upon this subject it shall serve in enable to answer Betterlower's letter it will be very acceptable; it will also enable me to charge the present [undecipherable] with the amount.
