516 Sir Philadelphia 27 July 1799. Your letter of the 19^th instant came to hand this morning. Its pleasing the Indians are disposed for [undecipherable]. By a Vessel just arrived from Orleans we are informed [that] Wilkinson was to sail from thence for this place, the next day, of course he may be hourly expected. Swann has [the] apartments assigned next to us; the rooms lately occupied by the post Master General — the conclusion relative to Sturm — but very soon it must be known whether he is permitted to retire, he has given in his ultimatum — indeed he has never receded from his first proposition. The Quarter Master General and O'Hara are both present, the latter in quest of the contract — M^r.
