Enclosed is a letter from [undecipherable] from which it appears that there is a quantity of Provisions deposited at the Fortifications at New York; more than the [undecipherable] Contracts for the Year 1799, for which it is probable he has been paid at the Treasury. If you can throw any light upon this subject it [undecipherable] [undecipherable] to answer [undecipherable] concerning letter it will be very acceptable; it will also enable us to charge the present Contractor with the amount—
