I have recd your letters dated 23 Inst with the enclosures. I have suggested to you before that it was proper for the Pay master General in this 1st Instance to furnish you with Instructions and he will also give you directions relative to the mode of keeping your accounts, it being more so as now arrived in this city & will very shortly proceed to himself when your accounts with those of all the other Pay masters will be Settled and to him for convenience, & he will no doubt communicate with you on the Subject. In the mean time it may be proper to mention that where you receive directions to pay money to Persons it should only be made to them in their proper persons or
