[undecipherable] for a [undecipherable] title &c concerning [undecipherable] Lebanon] Lebanon 23^d July 1799 I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 12^th June — A Journey to the Northward & Westward, which took me up some time, has prevented my making you so early a reply as would otherwise have been done — Since my return I have been at N London for the purpose of tracing the Description of Lines & Boundaries of Land adjoining the Forts, as reported to you by Cap. Wadworth — and now have the honor of Enclosing to you two Deeds of Cession, one for each of the Forts — with the necessary Lands adjoining the same —— At Fort Trumbull, I have made one Addition, ceding the [undecipherable: jurisdiction?] of a [undecipherable] Way to & from the [undecipherable], which was [undecipherable] thought [undecipherable] be [undecipherable] a [undecipherable] — In other respects the Descriptions [undecipherable] the [undecipherable] are conformable to the Report [undecipherable] & [undecipherable: transm-?] [undecipherable] The Ground on which Fort Trumbull [undecipherable] is very commanding & may be very usefully improved for the Security of [undecipherable] one of the finest & most eligible Harbours in the States — The Combination of a great variety of advantageous Circumstances attending this Harbour, gives me a right I think of speaking thus proudly of its Importance —— [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Same [undecipherable] J.T.
