Abstract of Vouchers presented at this Office for Settlement by Michel Brunel Contractor, inadmissible because of no accompanying motive and nonaccompanied by any official authority to warrant the same and until sanctions by the Secretary of War, will be rejected — N^o 1 — The first Voucher is for one months rent of a house for the Officer at Bristol taken at 384 Dollars per annum of which the following is a Copy — "June 15, 1799 rec^d of Michael Brunel "Contractor for the Army of the United "States the Sum of Twelve pounds in "full for one months rents "for W^m Bransford Ben^j. Wills J^r" The second is for one months rent of a building used as a Military Store Taken at 240 Doll^s per annum of which the following is a Copy — "June 15, 1799 rec^d of Michael Brunel "twenty Dollars being the amount of "one Months rent for a Military Store "Samuel Harvey" Both of which Vouchers are now returned to the said Michael Brunel — Department of War— Accountants Office July 19^th 1799 W.
