John Wilkins Junr Esqr
Quarter Master Genl
Sir
The accounts which have been rendered by you, as Quarter Master General, to the Treasury Department, and transmitted thence to this Office as expenditures incident to the Department of War, and those which you removed direct to this Office, are now under examination, and among them, there appear a considerable number of very objectionable charges & expenditures and such as require an early personal communication.
As you are now in this City, I think it will be convenient for you to attend at this Office, & such remarks as have already occured to me will be communicated to you for your Government. —

Sir
Your letter under the 9 Inst.t I have received — it has been determined that an additional settlement for subsistence shall be made at this Office, that money should be advanced to the Pay master of the Regt on account, and the Officers will render their accounts to him for liquidation and ultimately to finally examine & return here. The Regt master General is shortly expected in the City when steps will no doubt be taken on applications being made to him,
