Sir,
I have rec'd your letter dated the 6th
enclosing one from Lieut. Blackmer on the subject of proof
claims for pay as Adjutant to the 1st Regt during his
absence therefrom, In answer to which I have to inform
you that the Pay & Muster Rolls for his prior corps charge
are not in this Office, I therefore cannot ascertain the
periods you refer to as such, But as the Pay master General
from whom perhaps they are is shortly expected in this
City, when he arrives an examination will take place &
when it shall be ascertained that you are legally Entitled
to receive payment it will be made of which you will be
duly informed.

their names does not appear on any Muster Rolls previous to
their being mustered by you, it will be necessary for you
