I have received your letter of the 23d Ulto inclosing a receipt Note for pay of the Troops at Portland under your command from 1 February to 30 April 1799 which has undergone examination, the Sum of Thirty two Dollars & tpd the pay of James Hermar, artificer, James Morris Four & — deceased has been deducted, having this amount requires to be drawn Hundred forty one Dollars & [undecipherable] which is accordingly [undecipherable] to your credit on the Books of this Office —
