[134] Lieut. John G. McWhorter Accountants Office Elizabeth Town No 5 July 13^th 1799 Sir I have received your letter of the 11^th enclosing the Estimate therein mentioned. I have affixed an average price say of [undecipherable] cents for the latter, which makes my amount of $[undecipherable] [undecipherable] Months for the number of rations you State which for four months amounts to the $[undecipherable] 1977[undecipherable]. The Secretary of War has accordingly ordered the advance of the Sum of Two thousand Dollars, on account of the [undecipherable] of the Officers of [undecipherable] Regiment. This sum will be forwarded to you this early part of next week, when you will be advised relative to the mode of [undecipherable: securing] some of the Affairs. When the Pay master General [undecipherable] shall arrive in this state which is now daily expected he will be directed to furnish you with the necessary instructions relative to your duties as Pay master and they will include those which relate to the mustering the Troops, the nature of the Pay rolls to be made out and in short every thing relative to the Payments to the Regiment of which you are Paymaster &c I am &c N.S.
