York Accountants Office July 12 1799 Sir On examining the Accounts & Vouchers which accompanied your letter of the 30 Ult: I find you have charged fourteen dollars paid to freight bills being for his pay for November & December 1799, which sums were deducted from the Pay table by order of the Commanding Officer until he should be acquitted as being charged with theft; it is therefore necessary for you to forward a certificate from the Officer who commanded for said period at West Point showing that he has been acquitted, before the amount can be admitted to your acct.
