Your letter annex'd to the Comptroller of Treasury States the 8 'Inst' was handed to me by that letter She requests me to assess whether the indulgence therein [undecipherable] relating to paying the balance on Adams acct should be granted. In reply to which I have the honour that all the money should have been paid along time since & M'Dowd stands ready to pay his proportional whenever you shall make your payment, so as to balance this acct it may be granted however care is taken to comply you to that letter in the times you mention'd
