[Docket: War office / July 11. 1799 / The twelve additional / Regts / Copy]
[Address: Wr John Harris]
War department July 11th. 1799
Sir,
On examining the Return of Clothing forwarded for the twelve additional Regiments since the 27 April I find that only eighty Coats and twenty Vests have been sent for the Sixteenth Regiment. I beg you will make no delay in having a further supply of these articles packed up and ready for transportation. Should there be no Vests in Store you will take such a quantity for those [undecipherable: designed/destined] for the Sixth Regiment as will leave the remainder equal to the number of Coats packed up for that Regiment—
I want as soon as possible a Return of Tents in Store and a return of the Number already sent off for each Regiment—
I am Sir
Your obedt Servts
James [undecipherable]
