Philadelphia 10 July 1799 Sir, The Secretary of War has shown me your Letter of the 1st instant, and requested me to give the information on therein requested. The Orderly Books made for the Army are comprised of two quires of Quarto Foolscap paper on No. 1 bound with leather on the back and corners, marble paper on the boards; Price 45 cents. A few have been made of three quires bound as above, which cost Sixtyseven cents. I am, Sir your most obedient Servant Samuel Hodgdon Esqr.
