[Docket: Pittsburgh July 9th 1799

Rec'd. th 23 [undecipherable] t.

On the subject of his medicines
furnish'd to the Garrison Fort
Fayette. July 9. Do: 1799.]
[Address: William Simmons]
Sir Pittsburgh July 9.th 1799
Agreeably to an Order of the Secretary of War, communicated to me by Major Craig, I transmitt by this Opportunity an Acc.t against the U. States for Medicines furnished to the Garrison of Fort Fayette. I believe the proper Vouchers are upon the back of it, but if any more be necessary, I have no doubt that Gen.l Wilkinson, will give it, as the whole was done by his Order —
If there had been easy Communication with him, I could have had his Warrant for [strikethrough: the] Payment long ago, which would have saved me very great Inconvenience which I have suffered for want of my Money — I hope & believe that no further Difficulty can be made, and that as soon as you will possible after the necessary Examination, give me an Order to recieve the Amount from Major Craig in this Place, it being more convenient to me, than to recieve it in Philad.a —
I have the Honour to be respectfully
Sir, y.r most hu.
& Obed.t Serv.t
Hugh Scott
