[Accountants Office] July 6^th 1799 Capt William Littlejohn New York Sir I have rec'd your letter dated the 16 ult enclosing receipt bills for the Pay & rations bounty of the troops station'd at Fort [undecipherable] for the months of March & April 1799 which have [undecipherable] the amount therein from [undecipherable] being Three hundred seventy three Dollars & You will accordingly be placed to the credit of your account on the Books of this Office. Your subsistence account ending 30 Sept 1799 has been settled agreeable to the regulations made by The Sec. of [undecipherable] allowing an [undecipherable] of one third on the [undecipherable] price of the ration previous to its augmentation yielding [undecipherable] price of [undecipherable] — From &c Mr C Ellery New York July 6^th 1799 Sir I received your letter of the 3 inst enclosing Muster & Pay rolls of the troops stationed at Fort McHenry under the command of Capt [undecipherable] Sterns for June 1799 which will be placed under [undecipherable] and found in transmitted on the usual manner — When the Pay master General who is hourly expected arrives on this duty all musters & pay rolls are to be transmitted to him it being by him his duty to pay the Army of the United States — From &c
