Knoxville N^o 3 July 1799 Sir I acknowledge your letter of the 7 Ulto, and will be more particular in answer soon, have only now intention to informe you that Capt. Bird has drawn no Money for his claim of derangements, that he made his claim with every attention to the decision of the War Office, but with full persuasion of the justness thereof.
