Sir,
It will be proper among other articles to deposit a suitable supply of Musket Cartridges under the care of Colonel Stevens at New york — three thousand are due the State borrowed by him when the Troops marched under command of Capt Henry — to pay these, and to make a deposit, I would recommend the sending ten Boxes of Musket Balls, with a proportion of the Materials, and direct Stevens to employ the Soldiers at Fort Jay, to make them up— I think also it would be well to send him Springfield to york, four three pounders, and eight six pounder Brig Ordnance, with their Carriages and implements complete — these Guns will be fast causes for when the Army takes the field; and a handsome Park ought to be provided. —
I am Sir,
Your most obedient Servant —
Samuel Hodgson

Sir,
We are about supplying our Army with Bee Tents— the supply is a new one — we have never yet seen Tents of this description; are of course at lost for their true dimensions— Will you be kind enough to inform me by a line as early as convenient the height and thread of those most approved by the British Army, and the stuff most suitable to make them of; also, what number of Arms they are made to cover —
your compliance will oblige
your most obedient Servant,
Samuel Hodgson
Mr William Cobbett.
