It will be proper among other articles to deposite a suitable supply of Musket Cartridges under the care of Colonel Stevens at New york — three thousand are due the State borrewed by him when the Troops marched under command of Capt Henry to pay these, and to make a deposite, I would Recommend the sending ten Boxes of Musket Balls, with a proportion of the Materials, and direct Stevens to employ the Soldiers at Fort Jay, to make them up— I think also it would be well to send from Springfield to York, four three pounders, and eight six pounder Brass Ordnance, with their Carriages and implements complete — these Guns will be fast causes for when the Army takes the field, and a handsome Park ought to be provided.—
