Caleb Swan Esq^r Pittsburg Accountants Office June 28^th 179 Sir I some days since addressed Major General Hamilton on the subject of your coming to this city, I chiefly took from the prompt of this Office all subordinate settlements which were originally contemplated to be made in the first instance by the Pay master General. In reply to which he has informed me that you are ordered to repair to this place, that you are now making arrangements for the purpose, may shortly but expected at Philadelphia. The object of this letter is to request that as little delay as regards may take place in your compliance with that order, as the duties of this Office are becoming truly to onerous, without your taking that part which relate to yours therefrom, will cause difficulties in the execution of mine — I have received your letter dated the 20^th Inst: enclosing the accounts of S^t Richard H. Greaton for recruiting which will in course meet an examination & the result communicated to — from Y^r M. S.
