This Agreement entered into & concluded upon Between Robert Ball of Wilmington Mercht. of the one part and Griffith John Mc Ree in behalf of the Honorable James Mc Henry Esquire Secretary of the War Department of the other part Witnesseth that the said Robert Ball hath agreed and doth hereby agree to furnish & Supply agreeable to law all rations of provisions Quarter Masters Stores medical assistance and means of transportation that shall or may be legally required for the troops of the United States at any post or place encampment or Recruiting Rendezvous within the State of North Carolina (Wilmington district only excepted) during the remainder of the current year one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine
In consideration whereof and as a compensation for such services the said Robert Ball will be entitled to receive from the United States for any number of Rations not exceeding fifty delivered at any post or place twenty five cents per ration any number over fifty and not exceeding one hundred twenty two cents any number over one hundred and not exceeding two hundred eighteen cents any number exceeding two hundred seventeen cents per ration and for every ration of distilled spirits consisting of half a gill two cents and every ration of Vinegar half a cent per ration and upon all disbursements on account of the supplies of Quarter Masters Stores transportation and Medical assistance a Commission of two and a half per Centum
