[Accountants Office] Gen^l Jackson Esq^r Gen^l Harber Sir June 19 1799 I have just received your letter of the 18^th enclosing the receipts of Doct^r Leonard Williams of two dates one for 59 dollars the other for 60 dollars, which will be entered to your credit on the Books of this Office— The same letter informs me that you expected when you formed a contract with William Smith for supplying the armourers at Springfield that he was to receive 2 dollars p Book for Book, & 2 p^ct commission on the same — agreeable to which his accounts are now settled and a balance of $138 71 reported in his favor, which Sum will be transmitted to you by the treasurer of the United States, to be by you paid to the said McSmith, upon his giving you the necessary receipt — Sam^l De W S M^r James Morrocon Livingston Sir Nov 21 1799 I have received your letter dated the 22d Nov with that enclosing from John Edwards to you on the subject of the balance found due by him.
