Simmons Clk Mr. John Tracy June 17 1799 Merchant New Brunswick Sir I have received your letter of the 11 Last Sunday — enquiring for the heirs of the late Col^o Abram McKeyes who were [undecipherable] at Drummondtown in 177 — In answer thereto I have to inform you that there is no arrearages due to his heirs as the times he was enlisted there was no want of Continental money & the Army very regularly received their pay monthly — if that was not the case, with Cap^t McKeyes it would now be too late to make application, the only claim his heirs could have was that for the Bounty of Land — on application to the War Office it proves that the land Warrant was issued June 11 1789 for Mary McKeyes Widow of the late Cap^tn McKeyes I am &^c M.
