You will therefore charge those Expd-Gates accountable on the Books of the Superintendent of military Stores — I am Sr W. Simmons Acct. Jonathan Jackson Esq. Accountants Office Superintend.^t Boston June 13 1799 Sir I have received your two letters of the 8^th & 10^th that are enclosing the accounts of Edmund Winchester contractor which are to be placed under examination & the balance found due will be remitted. The other enclosing the receipt of William Swan Pay master of the 1^st [Reg^t] amounting to 2108 dollars and will be entered on the Books of this Office accordingly — I am Sr W. Simmons Acct.
