His M^t County                                              June 10^th 1799 Sir I have received your letter of the 27 ult: with the enclosures the receipt-roll for pay & Disbursement of the 1 Reg^t of Infantry for March 1799 has been examined & found correct the amount of which will be passed to your credit on the books of this Office — The pay roll in April 1799 has also been examined & found correct, amounting to twenty eight Dollars, which sum you will receive from Nicholas Fish Supervisor of revenue on seeing him your duplicate and stating yourself accountable for the due application thereof — I am &c W. Simmons Clk M^r John Edwards                                                      June 11^th 1799 Frankfort, Kentucky Sir I have received your letter dated the 30 April relative to the balance standing to your a/ct. for monies placed into your hands for the pay of certain Detachments of Kentucky Militia — In reply please to inform you that the Balance as stated in my letter of the 17 January last $[undecipherable] notify you have additional Vouchers to produce, must be paid to James Morrison paymaster or noticed in that letter. I will transmit the power of attorney to which you refer of persons receipt if the parties are those whose [undecipherable] has [undecipherable] the balances that are accounted [undecipherable] due generally to the last I transmitted before — I think it proper to inform you that the delay compliance on your part in paying the balance is highly necessary to prevent your being [considered?] greatly [undecipherable]
