Lieut^t Hugh McGuller Accountants Office June 4. 1799 Sir I have recieved your letter & the Villettle [undecipherable] Muster & Pay rolls for the recruits at Savannah Georgia under the command of d^r William D Fernans which have been examined the balance of which is after deducting the pay of deserters & dead men, eight hundred three Dollars & 1¹⁰⁰ which sum you will receive from John Habersham Esq^r Collector at Savannah in the State of Georgia, for which sum you will please to give him your duplicate receipts holding yourself accountable for the due application thereof. Savannah Georgia June 4. 1799 Sir The Treasurer of the United States will remit you the Sum of eight hundred three Dollars & 1¹⁰⁰, being the pay of d^r William D Fernans for a Detachment of recruits under his command at Savannah in Georgia, up to 31 Dec^r 1795 inclusive, which sum you will please to pay to L^t Hugh McGuller paymaster, taking his duplicate receipts holding himself accountable for the due application thereof.
