Under date of the 13th Ultimo —
You will receive inclosed an Abstract, of
Articles purchased by Ebenezer Stevens Esqr. Agent for this Department
in New York in the Months of January & February 1799, for the
amount of which he will receive a Credit on the Books of this Office.
The Vouchers for the articles purchased as abovementioned being
signed either by the Superintendent, Quartermaster, Surgeons Mate
or Master Workmen as evidence of the delivery on Governors Island,
(except such as are noted on the said abstract to be without this evidence)
you will judge how far the said Ebenezer Stevens is to be held
accountable on the Books of the Superintendent of Military Stores.
You will please as usual to acknowledge the receipt hereof,
together with the Abstract inclosed. I am, Sir,
