Sir I have received your letter dated 30 Ulto: with the Abstracts & Annex accompanying it. On looking over the former I find you have made a payment to Lieut. Theophilus Clover for his service as Surgeon's Mate at the rate of 30 dollars pr Month and 2 Rations pr day. Mr. Clover some time since forwarded a similar claim to this Office for previous service which was referred to The Secretary of War for decision there follows what his decision was —
"The Accountant will also require of Lieut's Mate the proper certificate from the Commanding Officer at Mr Post shewing the time he officiated as Physician to the Sick at that Garrison after his appointment to the Office of A[undecipherable] and will allow at the rate of 10 Dollars per month for his medical service in"
