[page 39] Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r Superintendent of military Stores Sir You will receive inclosed an Abstract under date of the 13^th Ult^o of Articles purchased by George Davies Esq^r agent for this Department, in New York, in the months of January & February 1799, for the amount of which he will receive a Credit on the Books of this Office — The Vouchers for the articles purchased as above mentioned have been either by the Departmental quarter master, Surgeon, or Armorer Workmasters as evidence of the delivery on Commanding Iferans [?] except such as are nota on the said Abstract of this — without this evidence, you will please how for the said George Davies as tobe has accounted on the Books of the Superintendant of military Stores — You will please to acknowledge the receipt hereof, together with the abstract inclosed — I am &^c W.
