I have received your letter of 18 ulto with the enclosures — Your accounting Acct will be adjusted on your forwarding the receipts for the June fund hired musicians and for stationary which do not appear with your acct forwarded to this Office —
The pay roll for pay of your Detachment to 30 April last has been examined and after correcting some small errors and deducting the pay of Henry Stettle and Jasan Aragones who deserted amounts to thirteen hundred thirty nine dollars + 6cs, as will appear by the enclosed receipt rolls for your government in making the payments —
You will please to deduct the amount of the expense of apprehending George Stivers from his pay and note it on the receipt roll, and when you have obtained the signatures of the individuals you will please to forward it to this Office — The amount of the pay roll you will receive from Daniel Stevens Supervisor Charleston on giving him your receipts holding yourself accountable for the same —
