I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of the 1st Ulto together with all enclosures.
Upon examining the rolls of the Troops in Georgia for the year 1792, I find that you have not in any instance been mustered as Adjutant — of course the charge you have made for acting in that capacity is inadmissible.
It appears to me that any charge for extra services in mustering the militia in the State of Georgia is inadmissible no provision being made by law for such services when performed by officers in the service of the United States —
For your account current herewith transmitted you will see there is a balance due you of eighteen Dollars & &c, which sum you will receive from Col Swan — on his giving the necessary receipts —
