Jonathan Jackson Esq. of Boston has been requested to procure shade twenty one Serjeant Coats, eleven Musicians Coats and three hundred and twenty Coats for privates for the fourteenth Regiment of Infantry — and a like number of Coats for the fifteenth Regiment of Infantry — and General John Swan of Baltimore has undertaken to have a like number for the Ninth Regiment You will be pleased therefore to have those numbers taken from out of those directed for the said Regiments and notify the Quarter Master General of the reasons why the whole number of Coats originally ordered for those Regiments are not packed up for transportation —
