It appears by an account exhibited by Capt Drum-
mond & May 5th at Still's Place at New London, was
paid at this Office that he has purchase a number of
Incumbrances on promises of orders from the Secretary
of War through the Secretary of the Treasury for the navy
of the United States the cost of which is Dollars &c. You
are therefore requested to charge of these the improvements
accountable on the Books of the Superintendent of Military
Stores —

Ulto inclosing your account to the 21st May 1799, which
has undergone examination the result whereof is as follows Viz
amount of your pay from 26th March to 31 May 1799
inclusive being 66 Days at 2 Dollars p Day $144 —
ditto of your Subsistance for [undecipherable] the date of your
arrival at Baltimore — to 31 May 1799 being
65 Days at 2 &c p Day 1[undecipherable]&15 — 18. 15
ditto of days hire &c expenses on the road from Philada
to Baltimore from your account Stated . . . . 12. —
from which deduct . . . 144. 15
This sum accrued to you on acct of your compensation
& expenses incured for Philada to Baltimore 100 —
