Accountants Office May 29^th 1797 Sir The Secretary of War having [undecipherable] a Warrant or Draw thousand one hundred & twenty eight [undecipherable] for 3 months pay & forage of the Officers of the 16 Reg^t of Infantry, commanded by Lieu^t Col^l Burbeck Forces, in out for three thousand five hundred thirteen Dollars on account of the Recruiting service — both of which sums are [undecipherable] by McLeans book War Office under cover directed to the Pay master of the Said Regiment, who when appointed will apply therein together with the Instructions send over the necessary receipts — I accordingly enclose herewith a letter written to him with the form of an Office on the Scheme, which the law makes necessary to be completed previous to his entering on the duties of his Office — you are accordingly requested to have them filled up previous to delivering the money, judging of the securities which may be offered and when completed forward them to this Office.
