An account has been rendered to this Office for settlement by Mr Samuel Hodey as Contractor of military stores for his pay & subsistence from 1st Novr 1796 to the 11 May 1799 both days inclusive, and in consequence of a letter from the Secretary of War requiring adjustment of the same at this Office, he has been first, after examining from the account therein, the sum of One hundred & seven Dollars to the army from errors in the calculations by an overcharge on the price of his received rations being credited to him by your affidavit on settlements with him. This sum I desire have hereafter to recur from your account, have & now charged him with the Abstract of which is enclosed for your government.
