Sir I am favored with yours of yesterdays date cover[ing] Mr. McLean's receipts— By his note in the receipt I perceive he supposes Montgomery's expences is deducted, because they do not appear connected with the part to be paid by the public— I wish you to make him sensible that he has received the whole— Viz: as per receipt on his Bill: 247½ Dollars, which added to 73-75 Dollars paid by you makes the 53[undecipherable] Dollars for which I am charged— Present my best respects to M^rs Stevens, and tell all is well with us at present— I hope you receive mine enclosing the Copy of the Ship Register— your most obedient Serv^t: Col. The Quarter Master General is to account for all such stores as are issueable to being to his Department— But all those who upon present circumstances is to account for the proper appli- cation of Military and Hospital supplies? The plan submitted by you seems to be compared to the perfect arrangement of all sup- plies furnished for the army.
