The following disposition of the two Regiments of Artillerists, [undecipherable] has been adopted — Of the first Regiment, one battalion commanded by Major Rivardi, is assigned to the western Army; an other battalion commanded by Major Trueman, is to garrison the Posts in Georgia and South Carolina; and another battalion commanded by Major [undecipherable: Tade?], is to garrison the Posts in N. Carolina, Virginia & Maryland; the remaining battalion Major Tousard, is reserved for the service of the Field. Of the second regiment, one battalion commanded by Major Brooks is to garrison the Posts in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York; another battalion commanded by Major Jackson, is to garrison the Posts in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire; and the remaining battalion (one not having yet been [undecipherable: raised?]) commanded by Major [undecipherable: Stoops?], is reserved for the service of the Field. The definitive arrangements of officers to the respective Companies of the battalion of the first Regiment, annexed to the Western Army is referred to Colonel Burbeck — The following is established with respect to the other battalions — That commanded by Major Trueman one company is to be Officered by Michael Kelteisen, Cap^t George [undecipherable] & Jonathan [undecipherable], Lieutenants; another by [undecipherable] G. It is expected that the officers not at present with their companies — [n]ot on the Recruiting service, or on some other service, by the Special command of Major General Hamilton, will immediately join them; and the companies not already at the above Mentioned destinations, and to be held in readiness to proceed to them, for which further orders will shortly be given — a true extract (signed) Philip Church Aid-de-Camp An Order by the Commissioners of [underline: Smithville] Abuses having taken place, by Sailors, and by People of Color, being permitted to go about the Town at unreasonable Hours — Ordered that all Sailors remain on board the Vessels to which they respectively belong, at or before the Beating of Tattoo, or in Case the Tattoo be not beaten, then at the Hour of nine o'Clock, in the Evening, from the Twenty [strikethrough: second] Day of March, till the Twenty-second day of September; and at the Hour of Eight o'Clock, in the evening, from the twenty-second Day of September, till the twenty-second Day of March in each Ensuing Year, and then to remain till Daylight in the Morning — (and that all People of Color, in like Manner, repair to, and continue at their respective Quarters — Ordered that the Town Clerk, in the Name of the Commissioners, request the Officer who may from time to time command the [undecipherable], to aid in carrying this order into Effect, by causing to be apprehended and Confined, any Sailor or a person of Color found about Town, and from the Vessels, or Quarters with a proper pass — and that the said Officer cause any Offender, apprehended in Consequence of the above Order, to be brought before one of the [undecipherable] —
