Department of War Accountants Office May 13^th 1799 Sir I have received your letter of the 7 Instant enclosing Muster, Pay, and Receipt Rolls for pay of your detachment for March 1799 which have been examined and found correct amounting to 180 ⁴⁵/100 drs, to which I have added your pay as Ensign to the 2^d. &pay as Lieutenant from the 2^d of March the day of your promotion amounts 29 ⁹³/100 dollars making in the whole Two hundred ten dollars and thirty-eight cents, which sum will be passed to your credit on the Books of this Office. The receipts for bounty and contingent Expences will be filed with those before received until your account can be liquidated. The pay of yourself and Recruits for the month of February has as you have been informed previous to Nicholas Fish, Supervisor New York from whom you will receive the amount — It cannot without difficulty be taken from the hands of M^r Fish but by you; it will consequently remain until you apply — Your Subsistence for March will be transmitted to you on your forwarding a Statement of the Account.
